Price overview of the current Rolex models
Oyster Perpetual
The Oyster Perpetual is the entry-level Rolex. It starts at a list price of 5,650 euros. However, one should not forget that the watch is available in various sizes and colors, which are even more expensive.
Prices on the grey market, on the other hand, fluctuate. For the 41-millimetre variant with a green dial, you can expect to pay around 13,000 euros, while the one with a light blue dial trades for over 20,000 euros.
Milgauss
The Rolex Milgauss is a less popular model from the Oyster Perpetual series. Nonetheless, it is growing in popularity. After many price increases, it now has a list price of 9,150 euros.
But if you don't want to wait, you have to reckon with about 12,000 euros on the secondary market.

Explorer and Explorer II
The two Explorer variants are also priced similarly. The Explorer starts with a list price of 7,100 euros, and the Explorer II starts at 7,500 euros.
But if you want to buy them immediately, you have to pay around 2,000 euros extra on the grey market.

But a realistic market price can be set from 16,000 euros. This depends entirely on the design.

Submariner
The popular Submariner starts at a list price of 8,950 euros. Considering that this price was still at 7,350 euros at the beginning of 2022, it becomes clear how much Rolex has increased its prices.
On the grey market, you have to reckon with at least 13,000 euros.
GMT-Master II
The GMT-Master II series is at least as popular as the Submariner. The list price for the GMT-Master II starts at 10,700 euros.
But if you want to buy a new model on the grey market, you realistically have to reckon with over 20,000 euros.

Datejust 41
The Datejust 41 is also a real classic in the Oyster Perpetual series. The cheapest version currently costs 7,950 euros.
On the secondary market, however, you have to pay at least 12,000 euros for the wristwatch with date display.
Datejust 36
On the other hand, the Datejust 36 with the palm pattern and the fluted pattern is somewhat cheaper with a list price of 7,300 euros. However, this can quickly increase with other alloys.
A realistic market price, on the other hand, can be set at around 11,000 euros.
Day-Date
The Day-Date 40 is not called the President's Watch without good reason. It has an elegant and above all powerful appearance. Rolex pays a lot for this.
Its list price starts from 37,900 euros, and there is still room for increase depending on the version. The list price for the most expensive Day-Date ever is even over 105,000 euros in the platinum version with a baguette diamond setting.
If you want to buy a new Day-Date on the secondary market, you can easily expect to pay over 50,000 euros.

Rolex Daytona
The Daytona is likely to be the most interesting for many. The racing chronograph is iconic and deeply rooted in the history of Formula 1 as well as in that of Rolex. The Daytona is one of the most popular models of Rolex in general. This is also reflected in its price.
The list price of the Daytona even looks relatively affordable, starting at 14,550 euros.
However, the grey market prices are overwhelming. Realistically, you'll have to pay at least 35,000 euros for a new Daytona on the grey market.
Rolex Yacht-Master
The Rolex Yachtmaster cannot keep up with such price developments. Its list price currently starts at 12,050 euros.
But if you can't or don't want to buy it through regular channels, you have to pay at least 17,000 euros for the Yacht Master on the secondary market.
Yacht-Master 42 Titan RLX
The Titanium Yacht-Master is a novelty, which has nestled in the model range of Rolex only this year. The new alloy titanium RLX is robust and extremely resistant to corrosion.
The list price for this marine timepiece is 13,800 euros.
It will become clear in the near future where the Titan Yacht Master will then rank in terms of price. It is certain that the market price will be a few thousand euros above the list price. How big this difference will be, however, depends on how well the new Yachtmaster is received.

Yacht-Master II
The Yachtmaster II has considerably more complex technology, as it has a regatta chronograph. That's why the list price starts at 18,350 euros.
If you want to buy the 44-millimetre-wide Yacht-Master II on the grey market, you don't even have to make up too much of a difference in relation to the list price. Because the Yachtmaster can be bought on the secondary market for as little as 22,000 euros.
Sky-Dweller
The Sky-Dweller is known to be a watch for travel enthusiasts. Not only does it have an annual calendar, but it also simultaneously shows a second time zone. Its current list price starts at 15,350 euros. However, this rises sharply with the gold models.
The Sky-Dweller is not one of the most popular Rolex Oyster Perpetual models.
Nevertheless, it is traded for above the list price. Because if you want to buy a new Sky-Dweller, you have to budget at least 23,000 euros.

Perpetual 1908
The 1908 is a completely new model that was only introduced by Rolex this year. The 1908 is designed to hark back to the classic Rolex line. The name is a tribute to the year in which Rolex was registered as a trademark in Switzerland. Rolex has also developed a new calibre for the 1908. This is also noticeable in the price.
The watch starts at 21,600 euros.
It remains to be seen how the 1908 will perform on the secondary market. The new model is classic and timeless and a real novelty. It is therefore possible that the watch on the leather strap will be traded for horrendous sums on the secondary market.

Conclusion
Rolex is broadly positioned with a price range from a few thousand euros to six-figure list prices. While some of the list prices still sound affordable, many a person falls from faith when they hear that a certain Daytona is trading for many times its actual price.
There are even rare Rolex watches that are traded in the seven- or eight-figure range. There are hardly any upper limits. You just have to remember that the most absurd prices are only as high as someone is ultimately willing to pay.
